On the occasion of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Annual Night a specially curated, ‘Défilé de mode’, a Runway Walk, By the Members, For the Members, Of the Members was organized on Thursday, 29th September 2022 from 6:30 p.m. onwards at Taal Kutir Convention Centre, New Town, Kolkata.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of The Chamber has been the most esteemed occasion. It was attended by Industry Leaders, Policymakers, and Thought Leaders. This was followed by The Annual Reception and Cocktails, which was a very well attended gathering of who’s who of the local business fraternity.

This year The Chamber marked the occasion by endorsing Bengal Textiles through a ‘Défilé de mode’ where fabrics originated in Bengal were commemorated by the Members of The Bengal Chamber who were Industry Leaders.

Défilé de mode aimed to celebrate the rich Heritage of Bengal in the realm of Bengal Textiles, Handloom, Weaves and Handicraft. Défilé de mode was all about blending the global imprint of fashion with the collective sensibilities of Sonar Bangla, the State with an evergreen golden hue about it.

The Annual Night was celebrated with an enchanting 45 minute Défilé de mode exploring the rich Heritage Bengal textiles. The walk was choreographed by Show Director Ms. Shubha Kenworthy, on live Bengali Retro Music with an interactive display of Textiles. The programme was emceed by Ms. Soma Mitra Mukherjee, Director, The Bengal Chamber and Mr. Arnab Chakraborty, Director, The Bengal Chamber. Apart from five Managing Committee Members strolling the ramp solitarily, nine other Members accompanied their spouses during their stroll. Also, four from the BCC&I Secretariat took part.
