6th Edition of HealthTech, 1st March 2023, The Bengal Chamber premises


The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry had organized the 6th Edition of HealthTech on 1st March, 2023 in Williamson Magor Hall at the Chamber premises.

The theme this year was "Making Healthcare Smarter with AI". The focus was on accessibility and affordability.

PwC was the Knowledge Partner like earlier years. A Thought Paper was released at the forum on ""Enabling healthcare with technology".

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been transforming healthcare delivery and holds great promise in helping medical professionals gain key insights and improve health outcomes. Now the challenge is to make healthcare delivery and infrastructure smarter with the objective of making the same more cost efficient, i.e., more affordable for the patients.

Opening Session was started with the Welcome address given by Mr. Subir Chakraborty, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Managing Director & CEO, Exide Industries Limited. Opening Remarks were made by Dr. Alok Roy, Past President & Mentor, Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry& Chairman, Medica Group of Hospitals. Theme Address was deliberated by Mr. Arnab Basu, Senior Vice President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Advisory Leader, PwC India. In the virtual keynote address Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Managing Director & CEO, Fortis Healthcare said, “AI is not replacement of humans. Human touch cannot be replaced. Human beings may be provided with more tools with AI. The infrastructure of sources of data has to be made efficient. Technology providers, healthcare providers, government and other stakeholders need to come together to discuss the policies of implementation of technologies in healthcare.” The Opening Session was concluded by Ms. Richa Singh Debgupta, Chairperson − Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Chief of Strategy & Operations, Fortis Healthcare.

It was followed by a Session on ‘How Healthcare Startup is shaping in advanced Healthcare Delivery.” The Session was moderated by Mr. Sayantan Chatterjee, Executive Director, HealthTech Leader, PwC India. The distinguished Panelists were Mr. Rajdeep Ghosh, Chief Product & Technology Officer− Digital Health, Dr. Reddy's & Svaas Wellness and Dr. Suren Shukla, Ph.D, Empaneled Consultant AIIMS Jammu, Digital Health Leader & Health IT Strategist.

The distinguished Panelists were Shri Aditya Kumar Sinha, Director, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C−DAC), Kolkata (Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India), Dr. Sujoy Kar, Chief Medical Information Officer, Apollo Hospitals Group, Mr. Sujit Bhattacherjee, CIO, AMRI Hospitals and Dr. Devi Prasad Samaddar, Director − Medical Affairs, Ruby General Hospital.

Mr. Ishan Bajpei, Chief Executive Officer, MELT RAPID LLP and Incubatee, WEBEL−BCC&I Tech Incubation Centre and Mr. Debasis Mazumdar, Director, Webel Fujisoft Vara Centre of Excellence made presentations in the Session on ‘3D Printing Applications in Healthcare’ moderated by Mr. Subho Samanta, Mentor, WEBEL− BCC&I Tech Incubation Centre and Founder, Diracsol Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

The next Session on ‘Capacity Building − Medical Education in the age of emerging technologies’ was moderated by Ms. Suparna Sengupta, CEO, IQ City Medical College Hospital. The distinguished Panelists were Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co−Chairperson, Techno India Group, Dr. Subhrojyoti Bhowmick, Clinical Director − Academics & Research, Peerless Hospital & B.K.Roy Research Centre, Mr. K. K. Gupta, Vice Chairman, Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital and Dr. Asima Mukhopadhyay, Founder & Director, Kolkata Gynaecological Oncology Trials and Translational Research Group (KolGoTrg)

The last Session of the Summit was on ‘Grow old gracefully − AI in Geriatric Support’. The Session started with a Presentation on Jagriti Dham, an Assisted Living for Senior Citizens by Mr.

The distinguished Panelists were Mr. Avik Ghose, Principal Scientist, Embedded Devices and Intelligent Systems, TCS Research, Mr. S. Radhakrishnan, Past President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Executive Director & President, Infinity Group and Mr. Manoj Maity, Co− Founder, Nestcare Techserve Pvt Ltd and Incubatee, WEBEL− BCC&I Tech Incubation Centre.

Each Panel Discussion was followed by Q/A Session with the audience. There were also stalls to showcase the offerings by Apollo Multispecialty Hospitals, Kolkata; Jagriti Dham − A Gold Age Home; Ruby General Hospitals; Webel Fujisoft Vara Centre of Excellence and startups associated with Webel−BCC&I Tech Incubation Centre including Arogyam Medisoft Solution Pvt Ltd., Inovocare Healthsoft Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Melt Rapid LLP, Maitys (NestcareTechserv Pvt Ltd), Solaire Initiative Pvt. Ltd. The Summit had 200+ footfall.

Promising health tech startups were promoted through this forum.
