Feluda, The Nostalgia: A Tour Across Kolkata, 28th January 2023, Across Kolkata


The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the first time, as a Feluda enthusiasts organized a unique tour named “Feluda− The Nostalgia" around the city of joy on 28th January 2023.

The tour started from The Bengal Chamber, and covered places like Garpar − Athenium Institute (remember Baikuntha Mallik, Jatayu’s teacher), Rajani Sen Road − Sleuths house, Bishop Lefroy Road, South Park Street Cemetery, Indian Museum − solve the mystery concluded at Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor, a themed restaurant on Satyajit Ray’s famous film “Gupigayen Bagha Bayen” with Shri Abhijit Guha, Director, Actor and Writer, Indian Cinema and Cast of Hatyapuri; Shri Ayush Das, An actor representing Indian Cinema and Cast of Hatyapuri; Ms. Baishali Dalmiya, Director, M L Dalmiya & Co. Ltd., and Co−chairperson, The Delhi Council, The Bengal Chamber; Mr. G M Kapur, Chairperson, Heritage Committee, The Bengal Chamber and others. The tour was coordinated by Walk Calcutta Walk and Ms. Joeeta Basu.

The event had a vintage car flag off session by Shri Sandip Ray, Eminent Director and Music Director, Indian Cinema at his Bishop Lefroy road residence. During his participation at the tour he said, "This tour presented an interesting walk through to track down the presence of the trio− Feluda, Topse and Lal Mohan Babu in the oligoli of Kolikata. The fictional detective created by none other than Satyajit Ray, along with cousin Topshe and friend Jatayu, has never failed to lift the spirit and morale of Bengalis. I felt overjoyed when the tour takes a tour in the different places across the city with a Feluda connection."

This tour comprises of story−telling, quizzes and fun activities. The highlight of the walk was the mystery solving part, where the participants played the role of the detective to crack a riddle and then uncover a bit of history−mystery related to Feluda.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an oldest institute of it’s kind since 1833 has been playing a pivotal role in the socio cultural and in Industrial development of Bengal. It has always through its various activities paid it’s homage to the legendary director Shri Satyajit Ray and in this particular initiative the Chamber tried to find the hidden treasure of the city.

The programme was organized in association with Pentathlon and B D Memorial Jr School, along with The Indian Museum, Kreemz, Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor, George Telegraph Film and Television Institute, Abdul Ahad Tour and Travels , RT Network Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and Halo Heritage. The tour had around 45 participants and the entire initiative was very well covered in Media.
