3 Day Management Development Programme on Global Business: Planning and Risk Management, 23rd, 24th and 25th August 2023, Virtual Platform
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) in association with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) organized the 4th Edition of 3-Day online Management Development Programme on Global Business: Planning and Risk Management from 23rd to 25th August 2023. This Online Certification Course was organized based on the huge success of last 3 years.
The focus of the course was to encourage participants to foster coherence and collaboration among diverse stakeholders. The course was designed to enable participants to understand stakeholder‘s function and challenges for the benefit of the trade. Besides, it provided understanding to the participants on the international business from legal, procedural, financial, logistics, and supply chain perspectives and helped them in developing strategies for international business challenges.
The course was inaugurated by Capt S B Mazumder, Mentor, Shipping and Logistics Committee, The Bengal Chamber, followed by a special address delivered by Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Head of the MDP Division at IIFT Kolkata and it was conducted by Senior Faculties- Dr. Taufeeq Ajaz, Assistant Professor - Economics, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kolkata, Dr. Raghuveer Negi, Assistant Professor of International Trade Operation and Logistics, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kolkata, Dr. Rajiv Maheshwari, Guest Faculty, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Kolkata and Founder, Imperative Advisory LLP and Dr. Bibek Ray Chaudhury, Professor- Economics, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kolkata along with modules facilitated by Mr Subhojit Roy, Member, Shipping and Logistics Committee of The Bengal Chamber & Partner, Victor Moses & Co (Solicitors, Advocates & Trademark Attorneys).
Topics like Leveraging free trade agreements, Understanding the rules of origin, Mitigating the risk of currency fluctuation, Enhancing Exports - Facilitation Policies, Harnessing Logistics Innovations - Synchro modalism and Physical Internet were covered under this course.
The course was attended by leading corporate representatives from Adani Ports and Logistics, Steel Authority of India, Berger Paints, TM International Logistics, Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd, Century PlyboardsIndia Ltd along with representatives from leading Shipping Lines, Customs Brokers, Stevedores/Cargo Handling Agents, Clearing and Forwarding Agents/Freight Forwarders, Logistics Service Providers, Supply Chain Operators, Exporters and Importers, Maritime Lawyers, and the total number of Participants present were 78.
The entire initiative was smoothly organized with the support of the Shipping and Logistics Committee of The Bengal Chamber along with the faculties of IIFT.
The course was extremely informative for the participants since it gave a clear grasp of global logistics operations as well as processes for planning and risk management for the benefit of the industry as a whole.
